Valentine's Day

Yesterday was a very exciting day! We had a great party. I had many great parent helpers who made it all happen.

The students made some heart necklaces. The boys loved it, too!

They decorated some yummy cookies.

They played some fun games.

They also got to pass out all their Valentine's Day cards.

P.S. Thanks for all the Valentines! My desk was covered.

Read-A-Thon 2011

Back in December we had the Read-A-Thon. It was great to have so many of you there. I love these pictures of you all reading with your children. It was a great day! Enjoy the pictures!

Our Class Reading Party

We had a reading party in December. The class earned it by working hard in class. They voted on this party, and they loved it. They were excited to bring in their blankets, pillows, and teddy bears. I brought popcorn and let them read anywhere in the classroom.

Don't they look comfy?

Contraction Surgery

Last month we did contraction surgery. We cut up the words, took out some letters, stitched the words together with tape, and gave the contractions a bandaid as the apostrophe.

The kids were so excited when I walked into the room looking like a doctor.

They were even more excited when they found out that they got to wear face masks.
Look at all the little doctors!

It was a great activity that I found on Pinterest. I am amazed at how many fun activities I can find on that site.

Catching Up!

I know it has been over two months, but I'm one busy teacher/woman lately. I'll try to catch you all up in a few blogs. They also may be out of order.

Last month we were learning about ones and tens. I cam across this activity on Pinterest, and the students loved it. Who doesn't love playing with their food?

The number below is 134!

Mrs. Dunn came and read to us. It is always interesting to learn about a worm's life!

Can't you tell that this little boy just loves having his mom there to read to the class?

January 30th was the 100th day of school. I stayed home sick that day, but I made sure to take some pictures of the students in their glasses and crowns the next day.
